What Now?

#Shalieve #PrayFor50 This is, as you can assume, difficult for me to write.  Yes, the Pittsburgh Steelers dropped the ball today against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Literally. Ben Roethlisberger fumbled late in the second quarter. That does seem costly considering it was ran back for six, but Big Ben also ended up throwing for 469 yards and five touchdowns. Quite opposite of his performance during their first meeting. Even though Roethlisberger willingly places the blame on his shoulders as the leader of this entire team, can we not point fingers? Pittsburgh's defense let Blake Bortles throw for 214 yards and Leonard Fournette rush for three touchdowns. Jacksonville had zero turnovers and Bortles was sacked zero times. Pittsburgh led the league in sacks this season with 56. Oh, 12 forced fumbles and 16 interceptions. On average they allowed 25.4 points per game. Jacksonville threw up 45. I said let's not point fingers so I am not pointing my finger at the defense. Nobody...

Real MVP, Please Stand Up

Merriam-Webster defines 'Most Valuable Player' as "the player who contributes the most to his or her team's success." Fair enough.  I personally believe that Most Valuable Player is one of the most controversial awards decided upon. These leagues are the best of the best, how do you narrow it down to just one valuable player?  With that being said, it is one of my most favorite awards handed out. One individual worked their butt off, tirelessly, to prove that they were THAT man or woman of the season. They carried their team to whatever success they may have had during the regular season, and it is their time to get appreciated for that. This award is not given, it is most definitely earned.  An elite guy apart of an elite group This year's NFL MVP race is a bit unusual.  No, seriously... Something might happen that has never been done before. If you have paid attention to the NFL and their MVP for the past decade, you probably noticed a trend...

MY Mt. Rushmore - Sports Edition

Every sports-enthusiast has a personal Mount Rushmore, right?  I sat down to create mine because I have never documented one... Well, I quickly began to realize how difficult it was to justify just four athletes.  Now my Mt. Rushmore is dedicated to the athletes of MY lifetime. There is no Michael Jordan, Jessie Jackson, Bill Russell, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Jerry Rice, or Jim Brown on my mount. I may have been alive while MJ was playing, but I was not old enough to appreciate what he gave to the game.  Now many athletes may come with some sort of baggage, we all know that. Professional athletes are human, too. As I was stating a few of my Mt. Rushmore candidates I was chatting with a good friend of mine and former professor, Dr. Goldsmith. He brought up the scandals that may have went with these candidates and could possibly tarnish them being on the mount.  Sorry... He was my first thought. Therefore, I must clarify before I justify. The on...
