City Girl?

Post number two! Hopefully I am getting better at this. Enjoy!

You might think that if someone lives around a small county or in a small town their whole life, they just learn to love it. Well, this may seem a tad bit blunt, but if you are thinking this... You're wrong. I think it is safe to say that all who grow up in a small town don't learn to love it; the small town living just isn't for them.
Okay, okay... Yes, I am talking about myself. I grew up in a small town, moved to a smaller town when I was about 8 and have remained ever since, but I have never felt like I really fit into the small town lifestyle. I am actually counting down the days that I will be moving out of this crazy small area. Now, don't get me wrong, there are things that I love around here. Things such as my family and the close friends that I have here, but they don't have to worry... I'll be back to visit... Sometimes.
I believe that my love for the big city first began about two years ago when I made my first trip to the Windy City of Chicago. My brother graduated from Navy Boot Camp in Great Lakes, Illinois and my family and I went out to the big city and made a day out of it... Yeah, I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. Another trip to Chicago came about a year ago in January. A friend and I bought tickets to attend a Lakers vs. Bulls game at the United Center and had stayed for 3 days in the very... VERY chilly city. I'm not too sure how I didn't get wind burn or even turn into ice, but I think the both of us could say that it was most definitely worth it. This trip is definitely ranked at the tippy top of coolest experiences for me. I also have quite the obsession with "The Bean" in Chi-Town. I absolutely love making a visit to that thing. So neat!

Now, I have been to the city of Pittsburgh before, but I was younger and I didn't really "soak" it all in when I was there. I wish I would have discovered my love for the city then so that I could have appreciated being there more, but the sole purpose for me being in Pittsburgh that time was for a Steelers game so you could say that my attention was focused otherwise... And the fact that it was probably negative a million degrees at the game we went to. But! Still enjoyable.

Maybe I should explain to you why I prefer the "city-life" over "country-living." I guess I have never really been fond of the flatland that are mainly occupied by some kind of crop field... Just seems so bland to me. I love the view of extremely tall buildings and how beautiful it all looks at night when everything is just... "light up." I am also a huge fan of the business that comes with the city life, all the people. Ah, it just makes me so happy when thinking about it. It makes me want to just pack up my bags and head to one of the great and gorgeous cities. As I plan on making a trip back to Chicago in the nearer future... Heck, I plan on living there one day, but I think that New York City is next on my list. I can not wait to experience Times Square at night.

New York, NY

I have heard many different things about and opinions on Los Angeles... Regardless of how negative, I still plan on making a visit. Whenever I make it to LA, I will be attending a Lakers game at the Staples Center as that place is such an iconic arena... And obviously the Lakers are such an iconic team. So many supreme, historical sites and buildings that come with big cities as well. You would be surprised what taking a tour around one of these cities with a tour guide would do with your knowledge... And I'm not even an history buff!

I would have to say that it's probably a positive thing that I thoroughly love and enjoy the big city considering the career field that I will be going into, I will either be in one specific city or flying from one to the other for most of my weeks. I would be okay with that. I prefer it.
As I love my life here where I am and most of the people around me, I think that when the time comes, which shall be soon, it will be time to move on to "bigger," "brighter" and better things... If you catch my drift. :)
Another fun fact about myself; I have quite the obsession with city skylines. To give you an example, I even get excited when I look and see the Dayton, Ohio skyline... Which is not much, let me tell you.

2020 -- GOODbye

I do not plan on this being your typical, cliché publication of "Yay, 2020 is almost over. Let's get to it, 2021." We will see enough of that on our Twitter timelines and Instagram feeds over the next 72 hours. 2020 has had ups and it has had downs, maybe some more than others. You don't need my personal testimony. I am more for sharing sports stories and opinions anyway.  Speaking of ups and downs, what better way to describe the 2020 sports year than that? January alone had a few great ups, but also had one of the biggest downs we as sports lovers would experience all year. It started off with the LSU Tigers capping off an undefeated and incredible season with a National Championship over the Clemson Tigers. Heisman trophy winner Joe (or, JEUX) Burrow threw up an incredible stat line of 463 yards and five touchdowns. On January 14 the WNBA established a groundbreaking collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The new CBA included substantial salary increases, improve...

The Hunger, The Redemption

After an outstanding first round of this year's NBA playoffs... How outstanding? FIVE game 7's! That's right, five. This would be an NBA record.  Here we are.  They're calling it 'The Rematch,' and rightfully so, but there's been a few changes since that seven game series.  The Heat have lost Mike Miller and Juwan Howard. You know, Mike Miller? He lost his shoe in game 6, fourth quarter, still managed to hit a three. Seems pretty clutch... HA, when speaking of game 6 we don't speak of some guy who lost his shoe. Ray Allen over everything in THE Game 6. Please tell me you remember that.  Only in Game 6. This one haunts all of Spurs Nation.   The infamous tatted Birdman may make his presence on the court, but will he be 100%? While we're on the subject of health, or lack of, will Dwayne Wade even be 100%? He seems to think so as he stated in his press conference. What about Tony Parker? If we are being honest, those two do not need t...

Nearly Impossible To Compare

You are all familiar with the term 'rivalry,' right? Maybe you all have heard of a specific rivalry that I will writing about... Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning? It is pretty well-known in the sports world, you may have heard of the two. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady will be facing off for the 15th time this Sunday in the AFC Championship game. This is also known as the "Branning Bowl." Clever, right? I wish I could say I came up with that one. Legendary. I'm going to throw some statistics at you now just to show how 'hall of fame-like' these two are.    The combined record between the two, including post-season, is 343-136. A total of 126,169 career combined passing yards. The total earnings between the two in 2013 was 68.3 million dollars. That turns out to be a pretty nice pay check, right? Over their career, combined, 850 touchdown passes have been thrown.  Last, but not least, these two Hall of Fame quarterbacks have combined for a tota...
